Melbourne based employment agency; Flow Recruitment, turns two.

Flow was founded and is run by James Handley – a career recruiter who is passionate about helping companies achieve outstanding growth and success through people.

James spent the first portion of his career at Kantar (WPP) managing all graduate and experienced hire recruitment, across several brands.

The second part of his career, in equal measure, has been spent on the agency side, five years with Hudson, Australia, a global recruitment firm, and a further three years with a specialist market research employment agency – Pollen Recruitment in London.

A love for business and culture, people and conversation led James to a tipping point. In October 2018, he launched Flow Recruitment Pty Ltd, a business that connects people in market research, insight, design, strategy and data analytics.

Flow partners with research agencies, client-side companies, brand, insight and data analytics consultancies in Australia, New Zealand, parts of Asia and the US.

James noted, “I feel very fortunate to be working in an industry made up of such down-to-earth, interesting and career-minded people…at Flow we enjoy genuine moments with real people…it is when we scratch away at the surface when we can really start to personalise the hiring or career experience”.

Since its inception, Flow has placed people at all levels of seniority into jobs in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.  James commented, “to date, we have intentionally targeted small to medium sized research agencies…we like to get to know our client’s business inside out, the people within it and what makes them different”.

Integral to Flow’s success is the time invested upfront with clients and candidates alike, “our brilliance does not show up on a piece of paper, it shows up in our pivotal choices in life and the stories behind them…this is where Flow adds real value, by asking the right questions and treating every conversation with the time and respect it deserves.”

With plans for growth in 2021, Flow feels optimistic about the future ahead.  “We have already started to carve out niches in the data consulting space, as well as making good headway in the US.  Most importantly, we need to keep looking after our current client base and make sure they are seeing the best people in the market.”
